Design Issues
You’ve been working on your banners for a couple of days now. Most of you have realised that this exercise is a little trickier than it maybe first appeared - the size of the banners is quite restrictive, the information to be communicated can be challenging, etc.
In the comments below, please leave your thoughts so far about the design issues you have been facing, and tell us how you have (or plan to) resolve them. Give the rest of us an insight into the creative processes going through your head…

well right now i have done 3 banners, none of them have turned out that well. so i deleted them. i just cant get the finished product that i want. i’m completing one right now and i think it will turn out well.

I found so far the hardest thing is the restricted banner sizes, i’ve had to sacrafice a few things in order to fit it. so far i’ve been cooping by blending the text with the background so it sits well, i also i added in a sort of logo.

i’ve done some of them…but most of them are not what i really wanted to turn out..doing the small buttons was a bit of a challenge for me,especially when i had to use the ‘Crop’ tool..it kept on messing up and i kept on having to use the tool again and again

I havent really finished any yet.. im taking my time, alot of time. All these ideas run through my head, but once they’re on the screen, its a little disappointing. Im currently doing an animated set which I really like so hopefully at this point, it might get a little easier.

When I cropped the image to one of the banner sizes, I was shocked because it was so small! trying to fit a slogan on there without overpowering the picture is really hard. I think that the animation banners you can make in adobe image ready are really usefull because you can spread out your information so it’s all there but not all at once.

This assignment really is harder then what it first appeared to be. When some of the images are croped, they seem to shrink down a bit. Sure it only happens to some pictures, but there is such limited space inside these banners that it is hard to get everything to fit into them. What has helped me the most was the animation tools that were taught yesturday. I can have as mch as i want on the banners because it will keep switching scenes which means more writing and less stress.

i didnt think that this assignment was going to be this challenging. It is a small amount of space to fit so many things. I think blending the pictures it a little tough, but now i am working on animation. I’ll just have to see how it goes.

Thanks to every who has replied so far…
I’m interested to hear your specific design strategies. Tell us exactly what you found to be the biggest “problem” as you undertook the task, and I’d be interested to hear specifically how you came up with a solution to address it…
For example, some of you have mentioned that using animation was able to solve the problem of fitting stuff into the small banner size but introducing the element of time…
What other solutions have people found?

Well, I found by using Image ready and only creating animated banners / graphics, I can now use more information in create a good advertisement.
