Flashes of Brilliance
Ok, here it is, your next assessment task… I’ve tried to keep it simple.
1. Do some browsing around the web (some teachers might call it research, but I like to call it browsing) and check out as many ideas as you can about the concept of “Communication“.
2. Write a substantial blog post that explores some of these ideas, especially your response to what you’ve found. I don’t want you to tell me what you found… I want you to tell me what you think about what you found. Give me some viewpoints on what it means to you and how you relate to the idea of Communication.
(If it helps, just imagine I’ve asked you to write a short essay titled “What Communication means to me”, and back up your opinions with a bit of research)
3. Create a Flash animated cartoon based on the theme of Communication as you interpret it.
4. The Flash cartoon can be anything you like, but it needs to be between 30-90 seconds long, to be original and engaging, and to include some sound (either music or sound effects). It can be funny or serious, but it should definitely be engaging.
Due by midnight, Friday November 3, 2006.

To me, comunication is getting a word or message across to another party threw speech, media, facial expressions, and writing. Also, it doesn’t narrow it down to human speaking to human, communication can also be from human to animal, for example… my cat would circle threw someones legs and rub aganist you saying he wants attention, or he is hungry; that is a form of communication. if you get angry with a pet, they can understand, my cat will run away lol. (he knows when he’s in trouble all right ;).) Communcation like i said can be given threw facial expressions. for example, someone gives an idea, but the other person frowns. you can then tell he is not very fond of the idea. vise versa, if the person liked the idea, they would smile, and the person could tell he likes the idea, he doesnt even have to say a word to let the other person know. communication threw media comes is a variety of ways such as Music, song artists and bands send thier message to you from thier song, even if its not directly to you, its spread to everyone who listens. T.V. is a large source of communication next to the internet. the T.V. has several thousand shows that can communicate lessons and ideas threw hand drawn animation, computer animated images, and real actors. the internet has tons of ways to communicate such as Chat Rooms, Hotmail, MSN Messenger, MySpace, Message Boards, online games, etc. there are thousands of ways to communicate over the internet. even books and stories proived communication since it is directed towards and audience other then the one who’s written it. you dont even have to be directly with the other party in order to communicate with them, like the internet, there is also the Telephone which allows you to call across the world and be able to speak with someone. Like i’ve said, communication is not limited to human to human or nor do they have to be present or infront of you. communication in my opinion is one way to get a message across to several other people, even if not directly.
