Personally, I like the blogs because its a change from most classes and it suits our generation of myspace, msn and blogging. I like posting my assignments and getting feedback on it so that I can get better at these assingments. I don't like the fact that it can't be personalized. I mean, it can to an extent, but with 20 choices that are honestly, pretty boring, it doesnt express us, as individuals. Sites like myspace allow pretty much any type of layout that can be personalized to suit you, which I think would be really cool. It would also be good if we had a little more time to blog. Anyway, thats it really, overall I like it.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate your comments and I will take what you say on board.

Dan, what did you mean by "give out copies of the blogs"... did you mean to provide hardcopy printouts of certain things, like tasks? Also, when you say that there could be problems if a computer is slow or the internet doesn't work, is that something that has affected you personally or were you thinking about it more as a general principle that could affect anyone?

Alex, good point about the commenting. I would love it if more of you would take time to add your thoughts to others work, as I think the process of thinking about what you think of others work is important in helping you think about what you think of your own. :-) Hope you know what I mean by that.

Michelle, yes, mother's can be SO embarrassing! :-)

Kath, in the settings when you post to the blog you can turn commenting on or off.

Thanks again. What about the rest of you? I'd like to see a comment from everyone in the class about this.

The use of blogs is one of the best ways to submit work, or commun icate. And even for the teachers to have notes and stuff on a blog is so mauch easier than going to photocopy a bunch or even for the students to write them down from an over head or from the board. Like mentioned before, some people may not have very good internet access. This would restrict some people from getting all of the information.

I love the blogs as a form of teaching, i've yet to ask it for any direct questions but i can jus put my work on the blog when im done with it, and if i dont know what to do i can take a peek at everyone else's and see what they're up to. personally i wouldn't change a thing, seems perfect.

uh...(haha i got a brief mental block there)
i think that it was a good idea when the person made the Learners Blog because the blogs let you communicate on how you feel, what you think, yada yada yada...
its also good because the students can check one another's blogs and comment on their stuff that they put on...or they could check if their teacher has put anything new on like a new task/project or a funny video, etc.
what i like about Leanrers Blog? hm. i guess i'll say the fact that you can post whatever you want, like the cartoons..and that you can just click once and you're at one of your classmate's blog.
what i'd change about Learners Blog...um i guess i'd change the comments because sometimes the comments are 'turned off'.

if you can't tell i really like it, i wish every class used blogs. i like being able to update whenever i want and this means of putting up assignments broadens the options for features we can use in our projects. how public the blog itself is is a bit bittersweet though, because sometimes you enjoy being able to share your achievements or opinions with other people but sometimes there are things you don't want people to see, for example certain projects that you might not be particularily proud of. oh and its kind of weird that my family can view and comment my stuff :S lol. overall though, its a really good, interesting change as compared to other classes and i've appreciated it.

i think the use of blogs in our com tech course is great. it makes it alot easier to sumbit work rather than priniting it off, or emailing it. in the case that any 1 would want to see others work, then can always just check it out. the only thing that i think isnt so good about the blogs is that not everyone will always want to leave a comment to others. its usually hard to say something about everything, so they dont say anything.

I think that using blogs as a way of teaching is a new and original idea, however, it may not be the best. This is becase if a person does not have the best computer or their internet does not work, they will not be able to get the information that the teacher has posted. If i could change one thing, i would make it so that you still have the blogs but you also give out copies of the blogs so that everyone in the class would be able to complete the tasks effectively and efficiently.
