This blog is being used as a general communication portal between myself and my students in the Communication Technology course at Holy Trinity Catholic High School.
I plan to communicate classwork, notes, tasks and general messages via this site, and I have encouraged each student to set up their own personal blog. These individual blogs have been crosslinked together into a sort of micro blogging ecosystem in the hope that by crosslinking and communicating and commenting on each others work it will place that work in a more relevant context, encourage a strong sense of ownership, and let the students use a medium that many of them feel very comfortable with.
I’m interested to explore the use of a simple click-and-publish blog engine as a form of class content management system. It obviously lacks many of the more sophisticated features of CMS or LMS systems, but it’s free, it’s easy, and it requires virtually no administration. What it lacks in sophistication it makes up for in simplicity. Besides, it’s all I have at the moment. 
I like the transparent nature of this medium, and that you cannot help but expose what you’re doing to anyone that wants to watch. Accordingly, your comments and suggestions are always appreciated.
